New to XC90
Im moving up in the world to an XC90, however I dont know what to look for. Here is what I know, please fill in the rest?
v8, super nice, highest HP, however a Toyota engine!?!?
3.2 I6 2xTurbo, is this engine reliable? what about the transmission paired to it?
2.5T I have a lot of experience with this engine
Is AWD worth it? how does this car tow with FWD? (how does it haul?)
what is there to avoid/look for in XC90's?

V8 is a Yamaha engine.
T6 engines are paired with bad transmissions. Beware.
T5 seem to be the most reliable of the early years.
3.2L seem to be the most reliable engine from 2007-on.
The 6 speed transmissions (V8, 3.2L) seem to have a valve issue before 2008. There's a thread somewhere on them, but anything 2008 or older seems to be safe.
I wouldn't think towing would be impacted with FWD versus AWD. There doesn't seem to be much of a price difference now between AWD or FWD, so you might as well go for it.

Thank you! Thats basically all I needed. I found that the T6 transmission seems to be a GM part, and only a 4 speed at that. Its also expensive to fix.
