newbie buying xc90
hey there i am a newbie to volvo's and i have no idea what i am getting into. my cousin is a used car salesman and is attempting to get me to buy a 2004 XC90 t6 with 114,000 miles on it and looks cosmetically like its in mint condition inside and out. he says it runs GREAT! and is a good car. its priced at $7,300 for me. and for his lot priced at $11,000. what problems could i be facing in the near future with this car at this age and use? and should i get this car? any pertinent information would be much appreciated.

Boy, your cousin really hews to the stereotype. But let's give hm the benefit of the doubt and assume he doesn't know that:
The XC90 T6 is notorious for their poor GM 4-speed transmissions, which often need replacement at intervals between 50k & 100k miles.
Unless you really know what you're doing you should probably refuse the "deal" you're being offered.

Don't buy a T6

Don't buy a T6, transmission problems. instead find 05-06 2.5T, 5 cylinder Turbo, Aisin transmission, clean bill of health.
Good Luck
