Default Newbie buying XC90

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and have been reading up as much as possible.
I am looking into buying a 2004 XC90 AWD,for my wife and am debating between the T6 or 2.5t The vehicle will be under 45k miles, we will use it for family travel and light commuting, no towing thatI can think of yet.
My main concern is the transmission, does the 2.5t have a better tranny? Is the T6 prone to the tranny failure? Also, is there any major difference in the 2005 model vs. the 2004?
Any comments or problems you have had with either would help.
