Why do these seem to be impossible to find? I find 2014 and 2016's pre-owned just fine but doing nationwide searches I can't find a pre-owned 2015 XC90?? Even a nationwide search with CarMax has used 2016's but no 2015's.

I understand that 2015 is just last year thus any used ones would still be driving under the 3 year or so lease - but that doesn't answer why I can find used 2016's.

Thanks, I called Volvo and confirmed that - no idea why many places online list a "2015" XC90.

Anyway, next question - City Safety Generation 2 - did the XC90 only get Gen 2 starting with the 2016 model or did it have Gen 2 in the 2014 model as well?

I'm doing alot of research and I think only the 2016 has Gen 2 but it's not clear.

Generation 1 XC90 is from 2002 to 2014.

Generation 2 XC90 (new model) start as 2016 model +. But like all automotive companies. new year model is usually released in the late summer/early fall of previous year. So first year (2016 model) of the new XC90 went on sale in around September 2015.

Generation 2 XC90 is far more superior than Gen 1 XC90. But will probably cost a lot more. If you are looking for a Gen 2 XC90, I will try to stay away from the early built ones since there were a lot of bugs. OR at least make sure dealer fixed all the issues.
