Default Question about the Brake Booster Vacuum Pump

Quick question about the Brake Booster Vacuum Pump on my 2010 XC 90 3.2 First, what part ofthe engine is it attached to and when this device creates a suction, where does the air flow go in to.

I am asking because I know the hose coming off is attached to the Brake drum and it creates suction. I thought this hose was the vacuum intake for the engine and I used it to pour some SeaFoam into it. I now realize its not the intake manifold vacuum hose and want to make sure the SeaFoam is not going to damage anything by putting it through the Brake booster Vac pump.

Thanks...

It got sucked right into the pump and thus into the oil. The pump is driven by the intake can and is lubricated with engine oil. Change your oil.
