Question About XC90 - 2006
Hello volvoforums! Fiance needs more appropriate vehicle with baby #2 on the way. Looking at local availability, I came across a 2006 XC90. Finace went to take a look while I was at work and she likes.
But I have a question about some research about this vehicle I have just started doing. I am coming across a lot of reports about transmission problems. is this something the 2006 XC90 is notorious for having issues with?
For that matter, are there any other common problems with this vehicle to be aware of?
2006 VOLVO XC90 2.5T - 7 PASSENGER - REAR DVD, Willow Metallic on Taupe Leather Interior - $10,800
Thanks for any insight!!

I bought a 2.5 T 2006 after hours of research. No tran problems with this car. It has high reliability ratings due to engine . AWD complicates maintenance. The v8 version is a gas guzzler but some like the power .Just don't buy anything with a GM transmission. The price you quoted is about what I have seen on numerous web searches.
Same here, just purchased a 2006 T5 with 75k mile. I have only put 2000 miles on it thus far but overall we like it. My gas mileage has not been great, but that would be my only negative comment and I knew it was not going to be good going in to the deal
The 2.5T is the configuration that is solid. Bought mine new in 2006 and now have 108,000 miles and she still runs great. Do however get the transmission serviced with new "Volvo" ATF fluid or 3309, it takes a special fluid. Just changed the fluid for the 2nd time so far, first time at 80k, and she is shifting like a brand new car. These cars will run forever, 200-400k if you change the fluids and stay up on your maintenance. It's a great car and a joy to drive.
