Greetings all!

2006 XC90 T-5 My radio died...at first would quickly show 'Premium Radio' message for several seconds on the screen when first turned on, and then it totally shuts down. Two more pushes of the power button, and the issue repeats itself.

All fuses are fine and wiring/plugs seem clean.

Took a look at the amplifier, and you can tell it must have got pretty wet at one time (rusted screws and white mold-looking stuff on the circuit board), so I'm assuming it's the amplifier.

I see that it's important to ensure the used replacement amplifier comes from the same country as the original, but I was wondering if the replacement amplifier will still need to be re-programmed by the dealer after replacement?

Anyone run across this?

 

Well, I replaced the amplifier, and still have a dead radio.

Just in case anyone else has this problem, the amplifier is not the root cause.

I'm still open to suggestions on what to look for next. All wiring seems to be in good condition...even at the antenna area.

 

I trust you are aware the sound system is on a fiber optic bus. I would scan the car with VIDA or a compatible scan tool. That might give you some ideas.
