Rattling sound from underneath
My 05 T6 started making a rattling noise when accelerating smoothly, the transmission shifts fine so it should be something else, center drive shaft maybe? It is not very loud but annoying it is. The car was driven a few days with the right sway bar rubber and holder not in place. This might have something to do with it. Does anybody have a clue where i might start looking? Thanks in advance for any advice.
A good place to start is to check your drive axles for wear to the boots. making sure they are not torn or have become seperated from their "seats" where the clamps secure their ends to the axle. If you get debris inside those boots your car will make all kinds of fun noises. Ill attach some pics of what you DO and DONT want to see when you look in there. #1=BAD, #2=GOOD, #3=EPIC FAIL.....Hope I helped get you started. Good Luck.
