Default Squealing sound when applying breaks

I bought a new XC90 2016 model and within 1 month, it started making squealing sound when I apply breaks. I called the service and they said that they are getting permanent solution to it but its been 3 weeks and no follow-up. Its such a shame and embarrassment to drive an SUV that is considered premium but makes a sound that is normally made by a 20yr old truck!

New rotors have been developed and are now available. Thats what warranty is for.

Thanks for reply but the warranty is not for a premium SUV with above 75K cost to have an issue in its 1st month

Okay, then what is it for? Would you rather pay for the rotors?

I know you're upset because the brakes squeak and you bought a new car. But it's hardly the end of the world. Bring it in, get the new rotors, and you're all set. If that's the only complaint with your new XC90, you're one of the lucky ones.

Are you designated Volvo guy that responds to complains in the forum or just some dude sitting in the basement?
I did not pay for a car that is worth 75K to make sound of a 20yr old truck

Neither.
Your $75k Volvo also makes the same sound as a $130k Range Rover.

Take it in for the new rotors and it'll be fine.

nice logic by the way, since a 130K range rover makes that noise so do not complain about your 75K car!
The service manager does not seem to be sure that changing the rotors will fix the issue but I can't complain, will waste a day and sit there for 2hrs to see if the companies test is successful!

Complain all you want. What good does it do? What are you looking for? A buy back for a brake squeak?

I'm sure the service manager has no idea about the bulletins that are out there.

I had a BMW 3 series before this one and got used to great machines that are worth every penny! I was trying to find an answer but I guess you seem to be extremely rich who thinks 75K is pocket change.

Might sending me some extra cash that you have?

Looking for an answer? You got one. The rotors have been updated. They will be replaced under warranty. Problem solved.

Rich? I'm not the one driving a $75k car.

OP you are clueless. believe it or not you go on any car forum and you will find people with brand new cars have some problems. audi, MB, porsche, etc. all newly redesigned models have some issues at first no matter what they cost. ES6T is one of the most knowledgeable people on the forum. next time you have a question i doubt anyone will answer it.

So further to my story, I got the call from the dealer that they have the fix, went it and they said come back in 3hrs as they had to fix software for recall.

After 3hrs, the software was fixed but they said the brakes still need to be fixed and they have to order rotor which will come in 2.5 months. Idiots, wasted my whole day and guess what, at the end, the guy wants me to give "OUTSTANDING" rating for service!!! Shameless people

Surfer man, I've got to back @schumicat and @ES6T here... Squeaky brakes are a pretty minor worry in life. Ask me about my Porsche. They are putting the new rotors on my T6 right now and yes it was a little slow getting them from the factory, but big deal. Brand new parts can take some time to get fully deployed into a global supply chain. Volvo is releasing them on a need-prioritized basis until the supply is at capacity. Seems pretty responsible to me.

Junior Member, I am not asking about any opinion but letting people know how frustrating the experience has been. They called me for a fix, wasted my day for nothing!

Not sure why they are saying 2.5 months. The new parts are available. We have them in stock at the dealer I work for.

And it wasn't nothing. The software update takes care of a lot of bugs that I'm sure you would have gotten soon enough. And if some squeaky brakes get you so worked up, you wouldn't have liked the random electrical issues.
