Default T-6 Turbo Bearing Failure??

04 T-6 67K on the clock

I try to take meticulous care of my XC and about three months ago I noticed a bit of oily residue around the boost side hard intake line-to-rubber intercooler inlet hose connection. (Near the dipstick) Idisconnected the hoses to have a look and noticed a very fine engine oil film inside the tube. I immediately thought it could only be two things:

1.) Turbo bearing failure
2.) Turbo system designed to allow small amounts of oil to pass by for lubrication.

So I took it into the dealership since I bought the extended warranty and I was told that it was just a "gunk buildup" and they cleaned the tube out and sent me on my way. Seemed to be a reasonable explanation at the time but yesterday I was under the hood changing the oil and I noticed the same residue/ minute drip coming from the intercooler outlet-to-intake manifold rubber hose connection.

There has been no performance loss, everything runs fine. Just wondering if anyone else has had that problem. I am thinking the dealer is blowing smoke... any thoughts? Any turbo systems I have ever been around and I see oil in the intake line it ususally spells bad news...

All turbo cars loose some oil in that area.
I haven't seen one that doesn't leak.

So should I just clean it up and roll with it? Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of problem developing that could be caught early. Thx

So this is nothing out of the ordinary to be concerned with?

Dear Sir,

How do you clean your Turbo?

I've recently purchased a used XC90 and I perform my own maintenance.

Could you please tell me?

Thank you,
Bill
