Default Drivers side wheel bearing excessive failure

My drivers side front wheel bearing is out again. This is the second time in a little over two years. If I remember correctly it's an auto zone part. It was still under warranty last time it went out. I've done wheel bearings in the past and researched a couple of threads about this one therefor I thought I knew what I was doing. Apparently not, or it's a crappy part. Is there a trick I'm missing somewhere. The car is a completely stock '97 850 5spd. Thanks for the help.

Did you torque it to spec? If not, plan on replacing them often.

I'm sure I did although I don't have a manual so I likely found the info online. I looked it up again last night and found 89 ft lbs + 60*. Sound right?

I'm pretty sure my drivers side wheel bearing is out again. It's likely still under warranty so I may just get the same auto zone part to replace it. I am still curious about the cause though. I realize it could just be a crappy part but I believe there may be other factors at play as well. I've had a clunking sound from same drivers side front wheel area for a long time. I'm guessing it's the front spring/strut mount which I believe is a common failure on these cars. I'll be investigating it soon when I replace the bearing. Does anyone think that could cause multiple wheel bearing failures? I found this kit on IPD that I'm considering getting to clean things up: Volvo Front Spring Seat & Mount Kit - P80 850 S70 V70 C70, P2 S80 SACHS 124790

the strut mount assembly usually causes noise because of loseness at the top of the strut - actually the common failure is the spring seat, which is a hard rubber piece that fits into the bearing - and the bearing itself is the part that moves. the seat tears between the spring cap and the metal insert that fits into the bearing making for some extra movement that you hear going over speed bumps, potholes etc. I've replaced multiple broken seats but never found a broken strut bearing. Another common cause for clunking is the sway bar end link. I replaced mine with the IPD Heavy Duty when I went to their 22mm bars. woof, the IPD part is like 2x the thickness of OEM.
