Default Temperature Assist!

My 2006 Volvo XC90 is showing 16 F right now. The actual temp is 69 F.

What could be the culprit? What’s the possible fix?

There are 2 outside air temp senders. They are located in the outside mirrors. 3 styles of mirrors, don't know which one you have but this style sensor is the little bump on the bottom of the mirror on blis mirrors. Sensors are there for the ambient temp gauge, fuel injection system and climate control. I have replaced one of them for incorrect ambient readings but can't remember if it's the left or right one. With VIDA you can query each sensor to find out what its reporting, to verify which one is bad. Do you have mirrors with BLIS, or electric folding or manual folding?
