Default Temperature Gauge

Hi guys, on my recent long trip, I noticed that while on constant speed 120KM/H, my Temperature Gauge goes to C, sometimes touched C. When I stops the jeep everything seems normal as I thought engine might shake bcz of low temp. Any suggestions?

Bye

I would likely read the temp through the OBD-II port with a code reader "live data". There is a good chance that you have a thermostat stuck open and the car is running cold.

the engine wouldn't shake because it was running cold. it is better for the engine to run at normal operating temp though (it runs more efficiently). i agree with other post that thermostat may be stuck.

Lol, didn't notice that. We shiver, cars don't. They just burn more fuel as they run rich.

Could it be the temp sensor and not the termostat? If the theremostat were stuck you wouldn't get much heat in the cabin.
