Tire Alignment after accident
Hi all,
A few weeks ago my 2004 XC90 was hit in the rear end as I was stopped at a red light. My car was damaged at the black plastic bumper and in front of the bumper. There is a panel that was bent and repaired and the body was almost untouched. I was his by a car doing about 40 mph at time of impact. His car was not drivable and was towed away. I feel that the Volvo performed perfectly and truly is a safe car.
One question I have is should I be concerned about the tire alignment after being hit the hard. This guy’s insurance company is refusing to pay for an alignment.
Please advise. Thank you.

You don't need an alignment. I spent quite a few of my early years as an auto appraiser for an insurance company. Your Volvo sustained only sheet metal damage and was hit in the rear..........ie: not the side. The Volvo simply slid forward in the same direction of tyre rotation...............no problem with your alignment.
