My vehicle is a XC90 2013 AWD without nivomat

I would like to know if you recommend to tow a camping trailer with electric brakes weighting 4500 lbs and having a tongue weight of 490 lbs.

my 2011 3.2L FWD did not like a a trailer with about 350 lbs tongue weight and 4k total... prob ok for short distance but it sucked on the freeway...

What do you think was difficult for the XC ?
The 350 lbs on the tongue, or pulling the 4k, or braking?

Did you use a weight distribution (torsion bars) ?

braking would be a problem if driving aggressively... it was all power related...constant downshifts and upshifts and just not enough power...volvo claims 5k towing...you'd do some serious transmission damage trying 5k in any hills or grades...front wheel drive also makes for interesting towing because it extends the front struts when applying torque to the ground.... just not a good vehicle to tow any significant weight. Awd might be a bit better.
