V8 Full Acceleration "Shimmy"
Hello all. I've experienced this 'condition' twice now, both times while under extreme acceleration (going from like 40 MPH to full throttle for maneuvers such as passing on straightaway). The symptom: Driving at about 40 MPH passing a vehicle that should be doing 55, going to full peddle due to sudden appearance of oncoming traffic around far bend. The vehicle began to 'shimmy' or even 'sidestep' after a few seconds, meaning that it felt like the front end was moving a bit left, then right, then left, then right very rhythmically. My _guess_ is that the tires had broken loose, and traction control was trying to reduce the spin rate by slowing first one wheel, then the next. Afterward, the feeling was a bit unsettling as I felt like if I had been too close to the car I was passing I might has sideswiped it. However, I don't know the degree to which the car moved left/right, as I was focusing on other matters. Anyone else ever encounter such a thing? I believe I have since had instance to go to full-throttle in which the 'shimmy' did not reappear, but not certain as I don't do it a lot.
