Default V8 recall

Just got a recall notice stating that oil cooler may leak engine oil into cooling system - anyone else got it ?
Also, I am very disappointed w/ my local dealer - Recently I noted air hissing at junction of 3 rubber hoses near air intake (connected by a Y-shaped "splitter"). When wrappiing my hand around the plastic "splitter" (Y-shaped) hissing decreased. Brought the car to local dealer whose mechanic put his hand under the plastic and said "It's cracked, needs to be replaced." The houses are attached w/ clamps that don't have screws. I did asked politely ( maybe too politely) to remove the houses and to look at the part, but both service advisor and mechanic dismissed me. Came back 3 days later, part changed -service advisor says" it's still hissing, I guess it's normal"
The part changed called "injector valve" - I spent 2 hours waiting for them just to look at it first time, the another 1- 1 1/2 hours to change the part, and they never looked at the part removed -so I don't know if "it is supposed" to leak some air, or they put another defective part on the car. They said they did not have another V8 to compare.
I would think you look at the defective part after removal..?

May be Volvo pays for any repair (needed or not) so it is profitable to change what may not need to be changed?

Anyone worked for a Volvo Dealer and has an answer?

PS
I am really upset that I had to spend 4-5 hours of my time plus toll/gas money to find out "it's probably works the way it supposed to"

Volvo will pay for the repair as long as the part we have to send back to Volvo is faulty, usually it takes a couple of weeks to get there and them to "test" it.

So Volvo would not pay for a repair if they find that part changed was not defective -sounds right to me. Of course, there will be some parts changed because of diagnostic errors, but the habit of misdiagnosing the trouble is not rewarded.
I did check that injector valve myself -removed the clamps and pulled it out -there is no way is is cracked. I also tightened clamps after putting it back, and it still hisses. The hiss is gone when I wrap my hand around the valve-probably because my hand reduces vibration? inside the valve? complete mystery - I wish it was the only type of troubles w/ V8 -capholder cover not opening and this one. Just knocked the wood three times.

There is a Technote on the cupholder, Ask ur Service Adviser about it. They should replace it under warranty. They have a newer design that gives 4MM more to open it properly.

As for the warranty payment thing, if Volvo sends it back, the dealer is SUPPOSE to pay for it. It never goes back to the customer.

Thanks for the info -they did replace the plastic piece by capholder in about one week after I bought the car. Now, I can't find out if they got "updated" oil cooler - I made appointement next week.

Are you saying that they replaced the plastic piece blocking cupholder's cover w/ the old one?
I do not see anywhere near 4 mm gap, and it seems that once in a while the cupholder cover sticks again...
