Volvo XC90 blower fan

Volvo XC90 blower fan
Hi and thank you for any assistance you can offer me here. Today, within a 2 hour window, my heater just completely quit working. I can turn the speed on and hear something but there is no air flowing through any vent. And it's still winter and my kids are cold!! My husband is pretty good with autos and he thinks it's the blower motor. He checked the fuse...but not sure if he checked the correct box. Trying to read these instructions for fuse locations...you almost need an engineering degree! Ha. Any tips and if the motor needs replacing on the XC90, is it the whole dash? Thank You!

To properly replace the blower motor, the dash does need to come out on an XC90. Or you can break the lower cover of the housing and silicone the crack when going back together.
The best way to test is to supply direct power and ground to the motor and see if it runs. If so, it is likely the blower motor control module. But since the motor needs to be removed to access the control module, you might consider replacing both at once.
