Default Blower/Fan is still running after xc90 is off??

I have a 2004 Volvo XC90 with 58,000 miles and I have a couple times had the a/c on while driving around. Turned the car off, to go about my business and everything went off, took the key out, the blower/fan is NOT RUNNING and went inside. Only to come out to get into the XC90 with the fan inside blowing full force???? How could it be running when I turned the car off? Luckily I caught it before the battery went dead. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS and can it be fixed cheaply for Volvo?

Thanks to all.

Would this be the relay for the blower motor?

Volvo is saying I need a new Power Unit (goes on the fan). They said they do not sell relay switches only the Power Unit, part # 917541 ($156), does this sound right guys? Can I get it somewhere other then Volvo?

THANKS

Read your manual first. My XC 90's Blower comes on for 7 minutes after shutdown depending on temp to dry the vents out from condensation. Not right after shutdown but anytime up to an hour later.

Thought it was a gremlin until I actually read the manual and it explained it.

Surprised the dealer did not know that....

Thanks so much for the info. No, no one told me of this from the Dealer.

Blessings to all.
