Volvo XC90 Starting Problem
Good day all
I have a 2007 Volvo XC 90 D5.
About a month ago I was driving the car and it just died without any warnings, jerks or any indication that something is failing. It cranks but does not start.
I have replaced the High pressure pump, glowplugs and glowplug relay(as i was told its the problem)but still the same issue. It cranks as if it has no compression but crank amd cam still connected by belt amd still turning when its cranked. When sprayed with quickstart it fires only on the quickstart and dies again.
Any of you had the same issue or might now where I can look. Spend about half the cars value on mechanics and still no luck
Thank you in advance

Hi,
I am in a similar spot. It could have something to CEM. Central electronic module. As this somewhat is on the list with mine that must be looked at by the dealer. I have a 21 XC60. I assume that your year and model have the same setup.
sorry I couldn’t be more help.

If it starts and runs briefly with the quickstart, but not without it, that points to a fuel delivery problem. Is there pressure at the fuel rail? If that wasn’t one of the first things your mechanic checked, you need to find a new mechanic.
