We love our XC90
I am a long time lurker but first post. I just wanted anyone searching these forums to know that my wife and I love our XC90. It is a FWD 2.5T 2006 with 89000 miles. We purchased it CPO from the dealer with 62k. We recently had a xc60 loaner over the weekend because our xc90 was in the shop for regular maintenance. We both decided that we still like our XC90 with 89k on the clock than the new XC60. Wonderfully built interior that still looks brand new but less modern than the 2012 XC60, more room, nice ride. Amazing safety features.
I have read a lot on the forums about reliability with the vehicle which I am sure are true. I avoided these models when we purchased our vehicle (T6 and AWD). We have had 1 minor problem with the oil pickup gaskets malfunctioning which was covered 100% (I think it would have been like 300-400). It said low oil pressure on the dash. No other issues with the vehicle.
If you are a new buyers have the vehicle inspected by volvo before purchasing it. Our CPO had 3k into it and the dealer provided the receipts. I also think following the maintenance schedule is very important and expensive. Make sure you compare prices when you do this. Dealers, private volvo mechanics, etc. We recently discovered that our dealer dropped prices and is cheaper than our local independent volvo mechanic. I also wax our vehicle with liquid glass once a year-helps keep the pain looking brand new. Lexol on the seats once every 2 weeks. Armor all with UV protectant.
Continue the volvo love!!!
