my 2008 xc 90 6 cyl. 70,000 miles has a loud whining noise from the front end. volvo replaced the ( L DRIVE UNIT ) but the noise is still present. it sounds like the wheel bearings in the front. ( both rear wheel bearings were replaced similar noise ). volvo says it has no issues......any ideas?

 

I have the V8 but experienced a similar symptom. The noise came from a failing idler pulley bearing on the accessory drive. When it finally failed it made a thousand dollar mess.
