My 99' s80 is making a loud whining noise from the front of the car. it almost sounds like a turbo but there is no turbo on my car. it happens when im accellerating. i talked to a mechanic he said it sounds like it needs new wheel bearings. Not sure wut to do right now, so if someone can tell me how a bad wheel bearing sounds and can give me a better idea on what to do. thanks

 

I think I have the same thing too. Does it only happens when the cars warmed up? Only happens while accelerating? My dealer said it might be a serpentine belt pulley starting to go bad. My noise is more of a subtle hum/whine...
