XC90 4.4L V8 Climate Control Problem
Hello, I recently purchased a 2007 XC90 with 157,000 KM. I'm having problems with the climate control on auto and manual adjusting temperature on a longer drive (more than 20 minutes). When I start the vehicle, everything works fine. I can adjust driver and passenger side to desired temperature on auto or choosing the floor, defrost or vent options. We noticed when we go on a longer trip, the temperature will stay cold until the last click to hot, and then blows full hot air. It's basically blows cold air on both driver and passenger sides until you turn them to the last setting for hot. I have read this could be solved with software update, but before I spend a lot of money, I was hoping someone else experienced this same inconsistency and how it was repaired. I did try removing the battery for 12 hours to see if that would reset it, but it didn't work. I also tried cleaning the thermostat with a light spray of compressed air. Thank you for reading.
I had my climate control module tested at local volvo dealership and the confirmed that the CCM had failed. Replacement cost $1,600.
I did some research online and found a great place to have my CCM repaired with a lifetime warranty. They test it and confirm problem, and then reinstall programming so you dont have to go back to dealer.
Xemodex had great customer service and I had my CCM back in 3 days with the express shipping. $556.00 cdn total.
