Default XC90 Help

posted this another forum by mistake:

Hi! I just traded in my beloved 2005 XC90 v8 w/. We got a MDX which is nice but I am so missing my Volvo (it was falling apart and had many issues over the years- was definitely time to get rid of it) We have an older MDX that I can trade and I am now determined to get another XC90 (used) My problem is this: I LOVED how mine drove (light steering, drove like a car, woodgrain wheel) but I know both the v8 and Touring package have been discontinued. I want a used one anyways- but what would be the most comparable? I am basically trying to duplicate my old one. I can live without v8 but I don't want sporty/bumpy/heavy ride. I also don't love the newer thick steering wheels. I am confused with all of the different models and engines. Don't even know what the R Design is?

I also loved the very comfy seats and the tons of adjustments they had so I want that too...if you can tell me if I have to get V8 again (did Touring become something else?) or is there another option that drives similarly?

Also do you think more will become available as people trade theirs in for the new model this spring?

Thanks!

My have a 2005 XC90 2.5T with 85K. I like it.
The downside is I have to replace the timing belt every 90K-100K.
No big deal as I have done many TB jobs before.

Hi, just bought a 2008 XC90 V8. Because I always try to get my used cars to be as good as they can be, I am trying to find out (from a reliable and very knowlageble source) if features like Folding mirrors, Blis, Rain sensing wipers, Compass (on the rear view mirror) and front headlights bumper water nozzles can be retrofited into my vehicle by buying the used parts with the features. I was also looking to have Bluetooth, GPS and rear view camera but I recently found out a Garmin product that gives me these 3 things for $350.00 which I know it will be way cheaper than buying a newer radio unit (2008 didn't offer Bluetooth), all Navigation parts that would be needed for the GPS feature and I think that the rear view camera was never and option for the XC90's. I would like to know if all 2008 V8's have the same wiring and will accept these options if installed. Any help, or any sugestions on who to ask this?

Thanks!
