Was wondering at what range XC90 2006 responds to key fob, Simple factory key fob with lock, unlock buttons (picture of it)- no keyless entry, no alarm systems. It works only at range of about 1 meter from car to lock or unlock it since the day we got car(not new). Its a bit annoying then you take few steps away from car with bags in hands and have to go back to lock car because fob is out of range. Fob battery was changed but the range did not improved.

Maybe there is some way to increase fobs range? Does that year XC90 have any settings for fob range in VIDA? Or thats all the range it have (1 meter~)?

 

It should work from beyond 1 meter. Maybe it needs to be replaced. There are no adjustments we can make in VIDA.

 

I think fob should be fine because there are two of them- one backup fob and the other one that we usually use. Yet both of them have same range.

 

Well they should work from beyond 1m.

One thing to try is remove the battery and bend the three metal contact tabs up slightly.
