XC90 and some issues
I have just bought my first ever volvo XC90 (2004).
Have a few queries as there is no drivers manual with the car.
1. Should I go get any outstanding software updates
2. The hazard lights will only work if I have the ignition turned on?
3. Is a volvo dealership the only place I can get spare keys?
Thanks in advance to any replies.
Have a great Volvo day

Owners Manuals can be found online. Try googling "2004 Volvo XC90 owners manual" for a link like:
2004 VOLVO XC90
1. If the car is new to you, I'd visit the dealer to see what recalls and service bulletins are applicable to your car and have them recommend what should be done. This may include software updates.
2. Regarding the hazard lights only working with the ignition on - I suspect this should be similar to other makes/models. My expectation is it should work with the key out of the ignition...
3. New keys need to be paired to the vehicle using the Volvo VIDA DICE system which dealers have - its possible for a Volvo friendly independent to also have this tool but I suspect its not that common. You can buy the fob online or from a dealer's parts store like Tasca Parts but you need to get your car to the dealer shop to complete the programming.
