On the 850 SW, 1994, on the roof sides, from front to back window, on each side, there is a strip about 3/4 wide, that is some black material, over a chrome insert/trip piece (about 4feet long by 3/4 " wide).

Some of the black cover is messed up, torn off of the chrome on the one i got 2 weeks ago. Any suggestions on how to 1) repair/replace this piece or 2) mask the damaged covering?

Either peel it all off and leave it or peel off and paint the molding.

 

1. Leave it as is.

2. Peel it off and paint it.

3. Peel it off and put black electrical tape of the bare metal.

4. Buy new ones from the dealership for $150 per side.

 

i have the same problem. i like the chrome look but its oxidated. im going to try and polish it today...i'll post before and after pics.
