Default Exhaust tip help

Just picked up an Eurosport Tuning Exhaust tip to replace the rusty original on my 850.
Got the old one off but when trying to add the new one it is about 1-2 inches too long.
So what should I do next, lubricate the exhaust pipe, sand or trim it. Any ideas apreciated.
Thanks.

Posted in the wrong area, can someone move if needed.

You mean it sticks out past the bumper?
If so maybe trim the pipe down a little to make the tip slide on more.

Try trimming the exhaust pipe on the car a little then it should slide in more.

Agreed cut off the tailpipe first and then put it on.

Hacksaw should do it. Personally if you have access to one use a Plasma Cutter. Will make everything real easy and a plus a clean cut.

You didn't get a plasma cutter with your box of Star Wars Cheerios?

Or you can get a Tail pipe cutter really cheap from a place like Harbor freight.

Jks2 too funny!

I got it on, I took it over to Midas and they welded it which looks 100 percent better
than the bolt on for only $10.00. I did error in still not getting it quiet deep enough,
I should have aligned it even with the opening but left it out a little. That is the
perfectionist in me. It does look just like their ad pic here:

I just want to say whoever designed the EST emblems did an amazing job (I put them
on the rear passenger windows, was surprised they had to go exterior).
