I believe it is as simple as taking out the OEM ones on your car and putting in the dual bulb setup. And they are not projectors. They are just a dual bulb setup.

No one makes projectors for the 850's only the 70 series. However if you want projectors on your 850, your going to have to go the custom route.

Hello sasp11,

Greetings from Chicagoland.

As Mr. S70driver has mentioned, you would have to modify/customize the set-up yourself. I believe there might be some after-market conversion kit of some sort. I'd love to convert mine too, except I'm busy enough with servicing other systems and short on $$$.

It would also be nice if you can install HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs, though they may require modification on the relay, as they may require different voltage. HID's are nice, they're brighter (some are really blue) and consume less energy. The downside of them is the price.

I might do a research myself to see if there's a conversion kit.

Good night,

JPN

Hello again,

I did some research last night, but couldn't find projector conversion kit for Volvo, but I'm sure there should be one. I found many HID conversion kits, though. HID's seem to be ranging from $300 to $1,000. Those kits seem to include everything you need to convert your mundane halogen bulbs into darkness-splitting beams.

Cheers,

JPN

I also found those HID kits...OUCH... Would they work well with the stock lens, or would I be better off with the european lens.

For starters you do not just add HID bulbs. You add an HID kit. Which includes more then just bulbs.

Secondly there is not projector aftermarket kit for Volvo's. You have to peice the parts together yourself.

1. This is where you should and hopefully will but your HID kit from, SharpHID
The prices are very fair and most kits have a LIFETIME WARRANTY.

2. They should work with the stock lenses fine. I think going to E-Code lenses might make them look better.
