Exclamation Volans Color Matching

So I purchased some Volans a few weeks back and I got 2 out of 4 in the mail today. One looks good, one needs to be painted. I'm thinking of re-finishing them but I saw duplicolor makes wheel paint and remember seeing a Demo at the SEMA show. Does anyone out there know how I can match the paint on these wheels. They are a darker gray or (anthracyte) spelling? Also what to do with curb rash, besides sanding.. Lets see everyone's 2 cents!

I used my Vibrator sander with fine paper to clean the curb rash off the ones I painted for the wifes car.

I will tell you I was not 100% happy with the way the duplicolor paint went on.

I do believe Volvo sells the paint for the rims. It is smaller cans and I little bit of money but from what I hear the paint holds up pretty good.

And here i am thinking of staying away from the stealership........ Well, I read a DIY online and I think I am going to do it my self with the curbrash and sanding. If I can't duplicate the color, I have a buddy of mine that might be able to spray them for me at his body shop! Though I will take your advice (TECH) and keep the original color! they complememnt the car color! I will take pics of the process...

When we meet up for the Grill if it is here I will show you close up the wifes rims and show you what I didn't like about them and why I was saying the OEM paint will be better.

If you need any help let me know. Also I have the sander if you don't have one and need to borrow one you are welcome to use it.

Check this DIY writeup on a local forum I'm a member of:

One of the best I've seen.

Thanks JTapper for that! I ended up doing something similar. I had to fill a few spots with JB weld and been doing wet sanding for 3 days! I'm so over it. Though I am done and ready to primer them.
