Default Wanting to paint side skirts...

Hello, I own a 2003 Volvo S40. I want to paint the side skirts with a black satin finish with Krylon Fusion but I can't figure out how to remove the side skirts from the chassis. I know there are clips that connects the side skirts to the body, but I can't find out how to safely remove the clips so that I can place them back after painting. Can anyone help?

Most of the time the clips will break. You pretty much just pop it off. But there is a few screws as well.

I see.. So there's not really a way to avoid clip breakage? I've tried using chisels and crowbars but it seems like the clips are on pretty tight. I don't know where I would purchase new clips if they are to break... If you tried taking off the side skirts before, what did you use?

I have pulled a few off. Once the screws were out I used a plastic bar to pop one and then pulled the panel to get it the rest of the way off.
