Hello again. I need to change out all four tires. My wife was referred to discount tire. They suggested some v-rated Perelli's for about 500$. We're just daily drivers and a bit short on money. Do you folks know of a good alternative to this? Does this sound like a good value to you? Thanks.
Try looking into Kuhmo tires. We sell them at the dealer I used to work at.They compaired to michelin tires. They are very good. You only need to put H rated tires on.Unless you plan on driving at like 175 mph all the time.

hey man,
pirelli's are some of the best tires that i have ever put on my 2000 volvo. they are quiet, soft yet firm feel to the road and they stick to the road at 135 mph. i have to show these ricers what volvos can do.

The guy at Discount Tires says v-rated is what I should get; not because of the max safe speed but because v-rated is supposedly a better construction than h-rated. I'll ask him about Kuhmo too. And thanks for the feedback on the Pirellis.
V-rated will also wear out faster than H-rated tires. At the dealer they replace the V-rated with h-rated tires all the time.

So you would recommend H-rated Kuhmo's if they've got them? Does 500$ for 4 v-rated Pirellis, install, alignment etc. included, sound like a good deal to you?
Yes that sounds like a good deal.Alignments are usually like $80.00 so it sounds pretty good.

I'm pretty sure you mean balancing... throwing in an alignment for new tires doesn't sound right.
