View Full Version : MEAN sounding exhaust tips for c70? 805c70 08-27-2007, 07:19 PM hey i was wondering what were some good sites to find some exhausts that will fit on c70 and sound really nice. anyone have some good sites? S70driver 08-27-2007, 10:31 PM 1. Exhaust tips do not provide power nor will they provide sound. 2. You at least at the very least need a performance muffler. These can be found on many sites and if you just GOOGLE it you will find them. However your in a C70 thusly your turboed. I would suggest running a Free Flowing Straight Throught design muffler such as a BORLA and or Magnaflow. 3. Or you can do a full catback system. And depending on what year your C70 is there are some options available for you. However until I know what year your C70 is I cannot help you. All I can do is direct you to this thread right here, http://www.volvoforums.com/m_38606/tm.htm and this link here. http://www.volvoforums.com/m_65537/tm.htm 805c70 08-27-2007, 11:52 PM its a 2001 and thanks alot for the help what would you recommend? RedTurbo850 08-28-2007, 03:22 AM Any good performance muffler will most likely be too big for the stock piping. You might as well upgrade your entire exhaust system w/ larger piping. That will relieve backpressure for the turbo, and you'll gain a few horses. S70driver 08-28-2007, 08:53 AM ORIGINAL: 805c70 its a 2001 and thanks alot for the help what would you recommend? 1. I recommend that you do a full catback system. 2. I recommend that you search this forum for links to the aftermarket websites. There you will be able to search the different catback system available for your C70. 3. Or have a local muffler shop make you a mandrel bent 2.5" catback system with a Free Flowing Straight Through Design muffler such as a BORLA and or Magnaflow also a Hi-Flow CAT as well. 805c70 08-28-2007, 11:12 PM so yeah, i've been doin a lot of searching and i dont think i wanna do a full catback system or anything concerning a full exhaust upgrade due to the moneyzzz.... but i just want a decent muffler that will fit on the C70... cuz im installing a short shifter, BOV, cool air intake and a couple ofther small thing along with the muffler so im trying to stay on a budget... S70driver 08-29-2007, 07:01 AM 1. You wont get any performance from just a muffler. 2. You could have a local muffler shop make you a system for like $325 but that will probably be crush bent and you could probably have a mandrel bent system made for $400-$500. 3. I would suggest holding off on the exhaust till you can afford it. You wont just be pleased with a muffler I can tell you that. 4. If you got to have a muffler then just search BORLA and Magnaflow and any other straight through design muffler and search for one that will fit your piping. Which is between 2.25"-2.5" around. 805c70 08-29-2007, 09:29 PM what kind of BORLA exhaust would you suggest? my buddy put one in his 944 turbo and it sounds pretty good but i think i might want something that sounds a little deeper than what he has.... I don't know. That is something for you to decide. Not to mention that the exhaust note (tone) will be totally different then a 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl, 10cyl, 12 cyl engine. Because we have 5 cylinders which is not very common. So just pick one you will be happy with any of them I am sure. Since you don't seem like you want to save the money up for something that will sound good and give you some performance. S70driver 08-29-2007, 10:28 PM Try this one, http://www.borla.com/products/product_multi_detail.aspx?cat=2&type=43&desc=Unive rsal+Mufflers%2c+Tubing+%26+Hardware|Turbo+Muffler s (http://www.borla.com/products/product_multi_detail.aspx?cat=2&type=43&desc=Unive rsal+Mufflers%2c+Tubing+%26+Hardware%7CTurbo+Muffl ers) I would measure your stock piping before you purchase. I believe stock piping is 2.25" (2 1/4"). Or this model. http://www.borla.com/products/product_multi_detail.aspx?cat=2&type=80&desc=Unive rsal+Mufflers%2c+Tubing+%26+Hardware|Turbo+XL+Muff lers (http://www.borla.com/products/product_multi_detail.aspx?cat=2&type=80&desc=Unive rsal+Mufflers%2c+Tubing+%26+Hardware%7CTurbo+XL+Mu fflers) 805c70 08-30-2007, 02:43 AM alright thanks a lot for the input... ill post some pics of the car when im all fnished with it S70driver 08-30-2007, 02:07 PM No problem |
