Wondering is it possible to switch out the older leather only auto trans knob for the leather/wood version? If so, how difficult would it be? Any wires or special care needed in the removal and re-application of the knob? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

You can take the shift knob off. There is a little ring right at the base turn it and pull the boot down.

Then try and pull the knob straight upwards. By the way this is the hardest part. It is very hard to pull off.
