I have replaced both front and rear bulbs and it still is blinking fast and giving me bulb failure message. Both bulbs, even the side marker are working fine.

After replacing the front right bulb, it went to a slow flash and everything seemed okay. Then almost right away it went back to quick flash and failure notice.

Any ideas of what the problem may be?

I have the same problem. Levering the socket forward seems to fix it temporarily but there is no way to hold it forward so it just reverts to the fast flash and the bulb failure message. How much do replacement sockets run?

 

$18 dealer.

 

Thanks for that. Our dealer told us we had to replace a controller for $200 +. $18 sounds a lot better.

 

Thank you. While I am at it I will see about replacing the brittle and broken, but yet somehow still working, headlamp connectors on my other S60 and V70 as well.

 

OH, volvo has a problem with those, but you can order just the socket from them and splice it in. You dont have to remove the headlight, they will charge you for it though (dealer).

 

Part # 8662985 Did the trick. It came with a bulb for $11.00 at Sanderson Volvo in North Phoenix.
