1996 850-R Estate with ECC, Heater Blower Resistor Part:9134933
Hi Everyone,
Hope you are safe and well.
Recently had some fun (NOT) with my heater blower. We were getting some hot weather so I tried putting my climate control on but the blower did not work. When I got home I checked the fuses (5 & 31). They looked like they could have blown so I changed them to no avail - still no blower! I went indoors to sulk over a cuppa and then came back out to put my stuff away only to find smoke coming out of all of the vents! (could tell it was burning electrics smelll) - yikes!! I immediately pulled the terminals off the battery and removed the fuses I had replaced. At this point I didn't know where the blower was but soon found that it was located behind the glove box. The back of the motor was very hot as was the power connector so obviously the motor had ceased. Trying to get a replacement was near on impossible but luckily someone in Australia was selling used one on eBay.
I replaced the old blower motor (the copper around the motor was blackened and there were bits of black plastic in the housing it came out of) for the eBay one with the battery disconnected. As soon as I connected the battery the blower came on with no key in the ignition and stayed on!! With plenty of searching online it seems that the heater blower resistor has also got fried. I confirmed this by pulling the connector from it with the black and blue wires - this turned the blower motor off. The big problem I have now is locating a replacement resistor which has a part number 9134933 as Volvo have discontinued this part - doh! My car is right hand drive and has ECC fitted so it is the resistor type with an alloy heat sink that sits on the module not the green pack one.
Does anybody have a working one of these for sale or know where I can get one? We are just coming in to Autumn here in the Channel Islands UK and if I can't demist the windows I won't be able to use the car so sadly it may have to go over something silly like this - sigh!
Hope you are safe and well.

Are you sure it's not this one: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vol...134932#fitment ??
Where did you get that 9134933 part number?

9134933 is for right hand drive cars (which mine is) and 9134932 is for left hand drive. I now have it working as found a company that repairs heater blower resistors. The main transistor had blown. After the fix my replacement fan started squeaking a lot so took that out and lithium white greased it. All good now - phew!

So Howdy everyone … I have a 94 950 turbo W/ECC, heres the short/short version of problem first off i pulled codes and I know I have a few issues W/ actuators etc , codes I got were 231,233,511 …not too bad since when I got the car it had no dash …It seemed to be blowing hot air and would function enuff to get by , but now what happens is … Start car blower runs full speed or wherever I place speed switch …after about 5? min blower quits m no screetching no noise ,just quits… If I shut car off fire it up and it does same thing , everytime I restart motor blows great then quits …Anybody got any tips 1 thanxz in advance !
update...Recently I tried this with the key in position II... the blower seemed to NOT kick off, W/ engine not running , Ign. on ...
