Default blower ghost?

1996 850 Blower with ECC sometimes will not run right after the car has been started. When its running it has never stopped during operation. I have replaced the blower resistor, tried a different control panel, checked the fuses. When it is in op the blower has no ground and that comes from the resistor but it has been replaeced. Has anybody got any ideas ?

Maybe the motor the ECC checks for excessive amp draw on start up if it sees to much the ECC shuts the blower system down.

I agree with Tech. It sounds possibly that the blower motor is drawing too high an amperage when the car is starting. It may be crazy, but have you tried a fresh battery in the car to see if it still does it? For now, I would do what you have been doing. Keep the blower motor off, start the car, then adjust the blower speed

Good idea about the amps draw because some times you hear the blower want to start for a split second and then it shuts down. I will check it and let you know if the blower motor is the problem. I will also check the battery just to be sure but its rather old and could use a new one. Thanks
