I recently bought an 06 xc90 2.5L, I got no information about it from the dealership. I am a first time Volvo owner so I'm trying to figure out what options my vehicle is equipped with. I have entered info into Vida and also a Vin decoder. One thing I am really stumped on is the transmission. Vida gives me 2 options for my vin AW50/51 AWD & M66 AWD but the vin decoder i used shows my vehicle is front wheel drive. I feel my vehicle is front wheel drive. Can someone that knows a little more please help clear this up for me. Thanks, its greatly appreciated!

 

If you have a bootleg copy of VIDA, I don't think it will give you the options list but you can try. After entering the VIN, click "Vehicle Details", which is at the top left.

If you have a DiCE as well, you can try connecting the car and clicking the Diagnostics tab. Once the car is read out, a good deal of information (but not everything) should be on the Details tab.

However, I'm not sure if VIDA pulls this info from the car or the PIE server, which is basically Volvo's central database. I suspect it comes from PIE, in which case a bootleg copy likely won't connect to PIE.

I should be able to look up the options with the VIN if you want.

On a side note- you don't have the M66 transmission. That is a manual 6 speed. The XC90 doesn't have that in the US. As for FWD vs. AWD... that isn't something you confirmed before purchase? Most people want to know that sort of thing. AWD will have an AWD badge on the rear (unless it's been wrecked and not replaced).

 

I got it from a Ford dealership, a guy at the dealership had traded it in. I think maybe they was going to take it to auction. There was just something that stuck out about it to me at first sight. It was the right price too. I kind of figured out the 2.5L motor but with the AWD and FWD, I was just happy to be getting it and either work for me. Yeah I don't have anything to hook it upto in Vida program. It would be wonderful if you could look it up for me. YV4CY592161292457 1 more question on the turbo models is there not a T badge? Mine doesn't have that either so just curious.

That was a generous reply to a new owner. Being one myself, I'd be grateful to receive the same info if it is not too much hassle. Just trying to familiarize myself -- already have had to replace coils & plugs due to misfire (4 days after purchase of my '03 XC90 T6). Not sure what's next, though was warned of an intermittent oil light appearing... My VIN is YV1CZ91H131001047. Thanks in advance!

I can not for the life of me find where my Interior Trim code is.. I found the Sticker on my 2008 XC90 but I cant find anywhere that tells me what any of it means.. here is a picture.. I am also looking for the other Trim codes for that year so that if I want to change things up when ordering new moldings I can
