What other headlight assemblies will fit my 98 ? 2002 s40 ?

what's your goal - better lighting or different look? For better lighting the easiest would be to snap on some e-code lenses. For better look, I don't think the S40 will fit - but I can send you a used bucket for cheap if you want to try.

For better lighting, I'd consider aftermarket Xenons and would avoid high wattage hologens (heat/wiring concerns) and LEDs (durability, bulb sensor concerns).
