Default 2000 v70 xc AWD Idle

I have a 2000 v70 xc AWD wagon. The vehicle starts and idles fine until you put it in gear. The engine surges and bucks and will eventually cut off. If I feather the accelerator and get going the car runs great, transmission shifts fine, no skips or surging. Until I stop and it starts again. Fuel pump is new, it had gone out and I replaced it. I've cleaned the mass airflow sensor, and the throttle body. The throttle body had been replaced by a previous owner who I think got it from a scrapyard. It has S60 written on it in yellow paint. I've replaced the plugs, and checked the coils. I took it to Advance Auto and had them scan for codes but the only thing that showed up was a water temp sensor out of range. The closest Volvo dealer is 100 miles away. Any help would be most appreciated.

Just a guess, but did you replace the water temp sensor? That could maybe be sending some bad information to the computer, when then causes it to run poorly.
