2000 V70XC: How to install an iPod/aux audio input.
Hi, new member here. I just bought a 2000 V70XC. It's in really good shape and I want to keep everything factory if possible but I also want, no make that need an iPod audio input. I don't need "integration", only audio.
Here's my thought: The factory radio (single disc + cassette) has a CD changer input that is unused. It looks like a standard multipin d-sub cannon input of some sort. Somewhere in there is the audio input, likely on 2 of the pins. The rest of that multipin input is certainly for changer transport control, etc. So my thought is wire up a 1/8" female to multipin cable and then run the cable up through the console so I can connect the ipod there. Has anyone tried this? Am I crazy? Are you going to all get mad at me and tell me to UTFSF since there are already a hundred threads on this topic?
Please help! Thanks.
