Default 98 V70 bucking at low gear

Just started last night on the way home. When stopped or accelerating initially car bucking. Thought it was due to being low on gas, filled it this am, added cleaner and same problem. No bucking when in park and smooths out after a certain point. Just put new tires on it yesterday, has 240000 miles and I cannot afford a car payment or to buy a new car. My husband very good with cars and can fix most everything. Thoughts?

Does it happen before the motor gets up to normal operating temp?

For starters I would check MAF and intake plumbing, Check for spark, fuel pressure, and battery/alternator operation.

I think he checked the MAF and we had the codes read and an O2 code came up. Was going to check the O2 sensor today. Will have him check the rest and let you know. Thanks!
