'98 V70 GLT fuel injector o-ring question
In my 1998 V70 GLT [Engine: B5254T), the fuel injectors have brownish plastic "washers" (for lack of a better term) that seem to hold the bottom (manifold side) o-rings in place. I believe these were white originally and turned brown with age.
Here is a stock image of some aftermarket injectors so you can see what I am talking about (note the white "washer" on the nozzle end of the injector):
One of these broke off at some point during my head gasket job, and I do not know what the part is called or where to find a replacement.
Questions:
(1) Are these "washers" necessary for safe, proper function of the injectors?
(2) If they are, is it possible to buy them individually or as part of a seal kit? If so, where are these available? Thank you all for your help!

UPDATE: Answer found! For anyone having the same problem, I found the answer in a post on matthew's volvo site: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/for...hp?f=1&t=60945
The "washers" are a special style pintle cap retainer, and can be ordered, but not cheaply. They don't seem to be available at auto parts stores, but there are a couple of websites dedicated to fuel injector parts that sell them, and they are also available on ebay. I can't seem to find them on amazon.
