'98 V70 GLT No Crank, No Start
I just bought this car and I got it without the key fob, I just got the key fob in the mail last night from the guy I bought it from, and now the car will not crank, it won't start, the gauges jerk around like they are going to do a gauge sweep but they dont. I tried to move it to neutral already and then start, I tried to lock and unlock a few times with the key, and that didn't work. I had started and driven it fine the day before, I have no clue what else changed other than the key fob. The dashlights also flash too, and the battery and starter seem fine as well.
Edit: i feel very stupid the battery was at 11.9V just enough to not crank so...

So I take it you jumpered or dropped in a new battery and all is good now? Next thing to do is to figure out why the battery drained. If you have a meter (inductive clamp ons work best), measure the battery current with the key off. Should be something small like 25 mA. If its over 50 or 100, you have a current draw. start pulling fuses to see when the current drops to determine what circuit / devices are drawing power. Common culprits are things like glovebox vanity lights etc, power antenna motors etc. I even had a buddy who'd current draw was due to an orange peel stuck in the lighter socket!
