1999 V70R AWD P80 Oil Light inconsistent flickering while driving, no lifter sounds
This started when it got really cold out, single digits (Fahrenheit, USA), My car's oil light started to flicker on and off, and the engine had plenty of oil. I have been driving it at very low RPM, 1-3k RPMs max nothing higher, and very slow acceleration, I am giving the car plenty of time to warm up in the mornings before I drive it to work. The problem went away for a day or two, and then just returned this morning when I drove it to the gym after I accelerated fast to avoid an accident. The light will come on and go out as I go over bumps in the road, and it will show up when I am braking or accelerating, How common is it for a sending unit to fail on a P80 V70R? I don't hear any rattling coming from the engine, but to play it safe I am driving like a grandma with this car until I can get to the bottom of this. I am taking it into the shop to have them check the oil pressure tomorrow.
