Key Fob Problems
Good Evening All
I have a 98 V70 T5. All of a sudden my key fob stopped working. I then tried my wife's fob and it doesn't work either. She doesn't even use the fob and the last time I used it....couple of months ago, it worked perfectly. I checked the voltage on the batteries and they read 3v. The car only has 53000 miles on it so how used could a fob be at this point?
Took it to the dealer and they quoted me 130 for each fob, 43 bucks for some software, and 160 labor! I asked them if they thought it was weird that both fobs go bad at the same time when 1 is not even used? Of couse, they see it all the time?
Is there a way I can reprogram this or am I stuck gettng new fobs?
Finally they claimed to have done a test on the remote system and they say it is fine.
Hope you have some suggestions.

RE: Key Fob Problems
Try this not promise. Turn the switch to acc or on but do not start the engine. Cycle the remote by hitting lock then unlock several different times. I can't remember if you then start the car, or turn it off then start it. I had this happen on my 01 S80 but my roof, overhead lights, and locks were dead. Good luck
