On my 99 v70, as like most all 70's, I know most of everyone who has fixed this issue by taking the whole dash off but has anyone fixed this issue with just taking off the top dash off? I have temporarily fixed it but shoving a wooden wedge but cant take the noise anymore!!

 

I guess no one has tried.

 

Some guys over on Matt's site has put some kind of double contact strip of some sort in there. The problem with wedging something in there is that it forces the dash away from the firewall, probably making the situation worse. Then there is the fact that the passenger side mount usually splits the air ducting apart.

I have pulled a few dash and have a video showing how but it is a little time consuming. Can be done if 4 hours, round trip, it you have everything you need handy.

 

Your right, I just need to get motivated and get it done. I know what its like to try to cut corners, it rarely works.
