Default Orange Dash Light Question

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I just recently purchased a `98 S70-T and I love it! It's comfy, it's fast and it looks great! I havea question though... There is a light on next to the speedo, it has a "snowflake" like look to it and sometimes a orangeish looking light is lit and other times it is not lit. At first I thought it turned on because the car was cold and then it would turn off once the car was warmed up. But it has come one when the car has been running for several minutes and I know that it's warmed up. Does anyone know what this light means?
Thanks!!

That light comes on when the Temp is below freezing outside. It does that basically to let you know there is freezing conditions to be careful driving.

Are you replacing the lights or just going to HID?

I'm not sure yet. What would you recomend? What are the advantages of going to HID? My current lights look a little dim and my fog lights don't work well AT ALL in the fog.. I guess I mainly would like to have a much better set of fogs but also do not want dim headlights either.
Thanks for the input!

Well you could either go to aftermarket projector headlights and get silver stars for the foglights.

But me I did HID's on the 850 with the aftermarket headlights I have. Some people have also put HID's in the foglights as well.

So it really all depends on which you really want to do.

Here is a place for the HID's http://www.sharphid.com/

Look on e-bay for the different headlights avalible.

That's great! I will be looking at those sites and see if I can't find a decent upgrade. I also have a question about head lamp housing. Do I also need to buy a new housing for the bulb or just replace the bulb and that is it?
Thanks

You can buy a HID kit with the bulb style that you have already Or what the new headlights will have it you buy new headlights then go HID.

i discovered (since i live in the north country) that the light only goes on from 22 degrees to 36 degrees. it will shut off after 22 (assuming you KNOW its cold?)

HID's dont use a filament, instead they are charged with a gas, and when electricity is run through the gas, the molecules get excited and produce a bright light. they are usually whiter then regular bulbs, but cost more and can be a pain to install. they need a ballast, a small box, to covert the electricity.
