Hi guys, I own a volvo v70 se year 2000, and I'm having issues recently. Each time I make a stop at a red light or stop sign, the car's rpm drops to around 200-500 and shuts down with the oil light, battery light. What seems to be the problem? Please comment below. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

 

rough idle/stalling can point to one of a few things - ETM (electronic throttle body) are usually the first suspect, a vacuum leak or the idle air valve (the latter two can mess up the air mixture at idle). Time to clean the ETM and IAV and inspect vacuum lines/intake tubes. The oil/battery light are coming on because the engine is turning too slow for the alternator to produce enough voltage...
